Drew Johnson is a freelance commercial illustrator living in Austin, TX. Drew knew that he wanted to be an artist since he was 5 years old. Even though he had many other interests, art was the one thing that was a constant. When he was in high school, he really started to get serious about taking classes and entering competitions. At Austin High School, Drew won many awards and had his art displayed in various venues.
After graduating High School, Drew went to Gemini School of Visual Arts and Communications. There he spent 4 years training in traditional technique as well as modern and digital mediums. He learned how to use Photoshop, Corel Painter, 3D Studio Max, and other programs. In 2008 Drew graduated with a Diploma in Visual Arts and Communication with distinction.
Since the age of 15, Drew has been self-employed. He started his own business doing party entertainment while he was in High School. His business grew, and when he went to college he was able to support himself under self-employement. Soon he was also interning as an artist working on video games, animations, and movies as well as some contract artwork on the side.
Drew's experience in running his own business since a young age has really prepared him for handling clients and deadlines with professional care. He also has had over 200 hours in team building, leadership, customer service, inclusion, and life skills training. He also has management experience and teaching experience.
In 2008 Drew started his career as a freelance artist. Now that you know about his journey to become the artist that he is today, you know that he is fully qualified to handle whatever project you need.
